I want bridal make up. January was approaching and it was my duty as the matron-of-honor to put together a great bridal shower for my best friend. My husband and I volunteered to do a couple’s bridal shower for our friends and theme it after the Survivor television show. The bridal shower took on a whole new meaning when we were finished with it. The decorations for the couple’s shower were hung with multi-ethnic themes.
We had flags from all over the world, and hats and Digury sticks from Australia, since they both were avid travelers and outdoors men. The food was from an around the world theme and we made sure to include dishes from various countries we hope to one day travel. We chose “fun finger-foods”, and this helped get everyone in the mood for the games to come. Many dishes from India and other exotic countries to incorporate them using your fingers anyway so that was a big hit. Sauces and dips also seem to be a popular choice especially in a "girls only" setting.
Add some nice garlic pita chips, shish-ka-bobs, and some exotic fruity drinks and you have a winning couple’s bridal shower. Outside we placed tiki lamps for that tribal effect and hung various masks and artifacts from places we had visited as well. If you haven’t traveled much yourself there are various items at home decorating stores, gardening centers, and nature or earth themed retail stores for an affordable price. The bridal shower game that we picked out, you can imagine. We had a variety of factual games that centered on relationship building.
We even threw in truth or dare questions about the young couple for others to get to know them better. The games were such a hit with this fun group and even seemed to break the ice. After the shower the ladies got together and decided on where to meet the following morning for a day out at the bridal shop. We made our suggestion to the bride where to find the best bridal gown, and what it had to offer that the others didn’t. You can picture the scene. Several excited women talking faster than the men’s heads could spin and all convincing about their experience.
The preview wedding gowns, wedding party dresses, accessories, special event wear, all the way down to the flower girl dresses can be found out there at discount bridal shops. Some of them you can even walk in and ask for a pair of free bridal gloves! Now that could be a real savings in your budget. Over all, the bridal shower, bridal registry, the fun games, and bridal shopping went off smoothly and left a lasting memory for us for years to come. If you get the chance to host a bridal shower try to add a unusual theme and spice up the normal party atmosphere, into an occasion r to remember.
